Should Sen. Clinton quit? Vote with your pocket - POLL
Sun Mar 30, 2008 at 11:52:45 AM PDT
I'll make it brief.
There have been calls for Sen. Hillary Clinton to quit, some people say yes, some people say no, or that she should not be asked to do it, or that she will not consider it because she is out of touch with reality or that she must absolutely win because... (List your speculations)
Greg Palast: God Damm America, Especially Pennsylvania
Tue Mar 25, 2008 at 03:06:08 AM PDT
The Title got you, didn't it? Good, it got me too when I first saw it.
Quickly, do you know what Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Greg Palast have in common? Yeah! They both said these words, but why ask God to zero in His Divine damnation against Pennsylvania? (Gasp!!!)
Why Eliot Spitzer was taken out, the true story? FOLLOW UP, Poll
Mon Mar 24, 2008 at 03:21:27 AM PDT
On my Diary Why Eliot Spitzer was taken out - The true story? 03/23/08, I pose as a question that there may be another narrative on why he was possible targeted for other motives rather than the apparently accepted one of his stupidity and arrogance as the reason given on why he was found out/caught, with ample visible indications that he was the best ally his enemies would hope for in support of this view.
To lay down the first element on why this episode deserves a closer look, I offered the Op-Ed piece by Eliot Spitzer published 02/14/08 on the Washington Post headlined Predatory Lenders' Partner in Crime, where he accuses the Bush Administration of aligning itself with the banks that were victimizing consumers via the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), by asserting:

This alert came to me via grassroots4obama@yahoogroups.com ("Yes We Can, Si Se Puede"), immediately I went to Daily Kos and searched under the name Eliot Spitzer only, I figured that if this story was posted here, it surely would have the name in the tags.
Why do I think it is important to look into it? Well, read below the fold and see what my fuss is all about.

Mother Jones "Hillary Clinton's Religion and Politics" Poll

Even if you are not an Obama supporter, you have to be outraged at the level of exposure that Pastor Wright's comments are getting on the Media, all inclusive, the clips are being played over and over.
Would you agree that the other candidate's religious background should be opened and examined too?
A Christian Nation in Mourning - Musings
Tue Sep 11, 2007 at 01:52:49 PM PDT
Six years ago today, almost 3,000 people perished in the worst terrorist attack perpetrated against the USA and many of us are still mourning and deploring the savagery visited on so many innocent parents, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends, acquaintances, so, so many.
For many in this country and around the world who profess to be Christians, there is the consolation that there is life after death and that the victims of 911 are enjoying a better and eternal life where there is no suffering, no pain, no greed, no hate, no base instincts such as revenge or ill will toward one another, where there exists only eternal love and bliss keeping a watchful vigil on their loved ones left behind, blessing and protecting them, gone but still with us.
On again! The Mexican Repatriation Program 'n' edition.

(This diary was originally published on July 4 on another blog)
In this July 4, amid the celebration for the independence and creation of this country, right after the so called Immigration Reform legislation considered in the Senate, which fortunately failed, fortunately because it was in reality an internal security program wrapped up in immigration reform rhetoric and very aggressive measures to deport as many as "deportable" undocumented workers as possible, plus the 21st century version of indentured workers, euphemistically called "guest workers" but in reality was yet another "bracero" program.
Molly Ivins suggests '06 Platform + Slogans for '06 Campaign.
Fri Apr 07, 2006 at 11:05:53 AM PDT
On Friday March 10, 2006 10:00PM PDT,
Bernie Ward opened his program's phone lines for
"the opportunity to state your platform if you were running as a democrat for congress. It seems that almost everyone but who actually is running the country has reasonable ideas on how to run the country." He also asked for slogans that would stick in people's heads.
The best "Bumper sticker" Type slogan entries were "Had enough? Vote Democrat, let's fix what's broken" and "Get real! Vote Democrat, let's fix what's broken" These have to be repeated ad nauseam, in addition, "Are you better off today that 5 years ago?" borrowing from the old, tried and extremely effective R. Reagan's campaign mantra makes the point for us this time.
The platforms suggested by callers, parallel the views at the Dkos in general which in turns reflects a column by Molly Ivins on this subject. Bernie read it on the air to emphasize the widespread agreement in DD on how the Democrats should proceed.
Will Dems let it happen to Sen. Feingold too?
Thu Mar 16, 2006 at 10:33:35 AM PDT
'Russ Feingold is a traitor' proclaimed Howard Dean's Subject line in the e-mail I just received from him. Then he goes on to explain his, at first sight, inflammatory remark.
Dear Aurora,
That's what Republicans want you to think. They are so scared of having a legitimate debate about Iraq or national security that they have only one reaction to news of their failures or calls for accountability.
On Monday, Democratic Senator Russ Feingold introduced legislation to censure the President for breaking the law by creating a secret domestic spying program. Agree or disagree with his proposal, as a Senator -- and as an American -- he has the right to speak his mind and express his views without Republican Senators questioning his patriotism.
But that's exactly what happened. This week Republican Senator Wayne Allard of Colorado, in an interview with Fox News radio, said in response to Feingold's action that he has "time and time again [sided] with the terrorists".
Send a message to Senator Allard: shame on him for questioning the patriotism of another Senator.Sign this petition and it will be delivered to Allard:
Cuba v2.0.0.6, Dubai - A wider perspective.
Tue Feb 28, 2006 at 11:17:15 AM PDT
My basic proposition is that to concentrate solely and individually on the motives/interests of each and everyone of the participants in this UAE melee, is conductive to a myopic view of what is in reality a perfidy, the global implementation of a highly pernicious and pervasive economic doctrine/system/structure, mixed with fervent religion/social ideology.
With the implications associated with safety from terrorism, child exploitation, sex slavery, exploitative prostitution, sharecropping kind of exploitation, brutal totalitarian regime, institutional money laundering, total lack of Gov't oversight other than the one protecting the elite's interests, state-sanctioned drug smuggling and trafficking, monetary hegemony, strategic position for oil supplies control, etc.
Notwithstanding the deserved, valued importance of these individual issues, the de facto emergence and imposition of a global corporatist state, begs for both our focused attention to it, and it's proper placement and classification in our long list of the most urgent priorities.
The biggest story of them all it's not being picked up.
Tue Feb 21, 2006 at 10:57:17 AM PDT
No it wasn't the one about Cheny's shooting a man, even though there were gazillions of entries on this subject at the Daily Kos alone. Depending on what the true date of the shooting was, this is the 11th or 12th day of
Cheney-Shooting-His-Friend-In-The-Face-Dkos-Watch in which
multiple DKos Diaries on the same subject have been posted.
DAILY!
No, it wasn't the "Offensive" Mohammed cartoon either, even considering the people killed, the property damaged and the worldwide media propaganda wars that may end up escalating.
Wrong again, it wasn't the NSA spy program or the many programs being conducted related, or parallel to it.
Fuck the Troops? Why?
Fri Feb 17, 2006 at 11:28:34 AM PDT
In one of last night's posts, a
Diary advocated to "Fuck the Troops"
The Diarist has been getting a good ass whipping by Kossaks' comments, including two of mine. It is rightfully proper to do so.
I decided to post this Diary because I feel that there are many points that need to be addressed further, including violations of the DKos Community's rules and/or conventions.
Freedom vs. Liberties in America
Thu Feb 16, 2006 at 10:56:53 AM PDT
Some people in America have Freedom, the rest of us have Liberties.
Having Liberties doesn't mean you have Freedom and having Freedom means you don't need Liberties.
If you have Liberties, you seek Freedom, If you have Freedom you don't want Liberties that'd curtail your Freedom with the responsibilities that come with Liberties.
Liberal Media? Media Matters says no in report on MSM.
Wed Feb 15, 2006 at 01:24:07 AM PDT
"I'm sick and tired of the Liberal Media that keeps on blah, blah, blah....." The shrilling voice of the regressive herd's favorite whining, chants. How true is it?
Not at all! According to Media Matters for America's Analysis Report released yesterday, which says: "conservative vices significantly outnumber progressive voices on the Sunday talk shows"
"Congressional opponents of the Iraq ware were largely absent from the Sunday show, particularly during the period just before the war began."
And what about Sen Bidden's popularity in these shows? "Sen. Joseph Bidden (D-DE) has been the most frequent guest since 2003".
